Thailand Visit.

Thailand and the East, is unique, and very different to the western world.
It's great for a holiday and a change.

From the old world to the new....lots of smiles and laugher.

Out of town toilet...and difficult for a woman to use.
A modern toilet with no wall. It looks out on a goldfish pond...lovely.

Under the street arches.

Travel transport of the East...the Tuk Tuk.

This was mostly our travel for comfort.. and the air-con.

 Travel by water.

In the middle of a roundabout.

Our hotel accommodation.

Hotel hall/breezeway with entrance to rooms.

  Hotel outdoor restaurant.

    1. It is different. There is the extreme poverty and the wealth. I find this sad, so Ray and I give carefully.
I didn't want to post or to boast, we are blessed now as we get older to be able to do this. As a group booking it is cheap. A meal cost about $3-6 Au or US.. very cheap.

  2. The hotel accomodation looks great. If I were there I would really need the comfort and air con of the bus too! I know what you mean about the toilets but at least in that one you can hop up there and hopefully avoid the stuff on the floor getting on to your clothes. One can hope :-))

    1. I was terrified of the toilets..especially with my bad knee..But I have to laugh at the culture shock.

    2. Aw yes, I should have thought of that too with my bad knee. I really don't like squatting though like they have those kind in India and Africa and probably elsewhere. Squatting is okay if you grew up that way but not if your first time is in your fifties or older! LOL

  4. Those toilets look clean! When we travelled to Beijing China the public toilets were filthy and totally disgusting.

Beautiful pics and it looks like you are having a fantastic time.

    Have fun!!

  5. I like your hotel right on the water. The traffic in Thailand can be very dangerous and I'm glad you had a safe journey.

    1. Yes the traffic is a wonder to behold..Just close your eyes and trust your driver..No way would I try it on my own.

  7. Wonderful, Crystal, that you had this fantastic opportunity to see how the rest of the world lives. I've seen very similar (almost as good) toilets in Africa and must say they are not only difficult for women - but from the ssmell you can tell that men have a hard time with their aim too! ☻

  8. Peeps who are able to travel and mingle with cultures other than their own, send photo tours with commentary, back to the "old folks at home".

This is a service to others, so interesting to us who fantasize and dream about far-away places. That looks like a floating hotel. Certainly you are enjoying your time "On the World Road Again".

Do you find that humans are the same, wherever you go? (I thought you had moved to Thailand!)
    PEACE, Mary!

Culture shock, You're telling me. The toilets look gross, the Tuk tuks though are something we could do with here in Cape Town.
I'll do a post about Tanzania with pictures, your culture shock won't seem so bad. :)
Bless you Crystal Mary, I do enjoy your writing very much, Geoff.
